Different models of IA are being adopted by different Indigenous communities but, despite some attempts to define the concept, what characterizes an ‘Indigenous-led’ IA is still in a state of flux. In this project, we attempt to advance scholarly understanding by identifying criteria that can usefully be applied to better understand the evolving picture of how Indigenous nations participate in IA.
